DASCOM Americas to Participate in Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) Trade Mission to Panama and Costa Rica

Apr 16, 2024

DASCOM Americas, a Central Virginia-based technology provider of printers, software, and innovative technology solutions announces it will be participating in an economic development trade mission sponsored by VEDP in Panama and Costa Rica beginning April 21st.

The company will join other Virginia-based companies with an eye on establishing relationships within the Panama and Costa Rica regions to foster export of product from Virginia into those countries.

DASCOM Americas does business in North America and the LAT region and is a wholly owned subsidiary of DASCOM Holdings, a Hong Kong company.

DASCOM Americas is a “graduate” of the VEDP VALET Program that focuses on assisting select Virginia companies, who meet specific criteria and who wish to expand their product offerings to other countries outside of the U.S. The company has worked with VEDP to obtain international assistance in various programs over the course of the last five years and is pleased to have drawn upon the resources of the organization and its sponsorship from the State of Virginia to grow its export business.

According to Ron Acorn, President of DASCOM Americas: “VEDP has been an invaluable source in helping us grow our international footprint and increase exports outside the state. Their assistance both financially and professionally has allowed us to participate in events, draw upon expertise, and learn about markets we would have otherwise not pursued. This effort has certainly created value for DASCOM Americas, and we feel privileged to have participated with other Virginia companies in their programs.”

Ken Bryant, Marketing Director for DASCOM Americas adds: “VEDP has been an essential part of the marketing strategy for our company in helping us to achieve tangible, measurable results within our export segments of the business. Through assistance in research, trade missions, trade shows, workshops, and more we have been able to reach customers and create brand awareness in markets outside our normal scope of regular business.”

He states: “Virginia is a fantastic venue for business and the Commonwealth’s business-friendly personality is evident in programs and organizations such as those offered through VEDP. We are indeed fortunate to have our headquarters in a state that values quality products and services and provides a means to help companies providing such services to grow and bring quality beyond Virginia’s borders.”

DASCOM Americas conducts business with several distinct business units. Those units are comprised of the DASCOM®, PRINTEK®, and SONARAY® brands. The DASCOM brand is focused on printers, software, and unique technology solutions in the card printer, access control, security, and forms printer market segments.

The PRINTEK brand provides mobile printing solutions with emphasis on the public safety sector of the mobile print market.

SONARAY is an industrial LED lighting brand.
